http://www.kildeer.district96.k12.il.us/first/gingerbread_web/gingerbread.shtml
In the month of December a gingerbread man will "run away" from a first grade class at Kildeer School, Long Grove, IL. The goal is for the gingerbread man to reach every state by the end of the school year. By joining this project, you agree to receive the gingerbread man, book, etc. then add to the package and send it on to the next name on the list. There is no one from Missouri participating so far.

Christmas and other December Holidays Around the World
http://www.bigchalk.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/WOPortal.woa/wa/HWCDA/file?fileid=305495&flt=TH
This project allows students to learn about holidays in other cultures around the world. Classes register and then create a narrative about the December holidays and traditions their families observe. The class will then send a greeting card through the mail to all participating classrooms with cultural information and receive a card from each class as well. Presently there are classrooms in the United States and Australia participating.

http://www.internetschoolhouse.com/projects_teeth.shtml
This online project is now accepting registrations. It is a “tried and true” project for many eMINTS classrooms. Besides the opportunities to graph and compare the rate of “tooth loss,” students share information about weather, landforms, culture and much more from all over the world.

National Math Trail
http://www.nationalmathtrail.org
This online project has students from all across the United States writing math problems that relate to their own environment and culture. Problems are posted online and available to all participants throughout the year.

Seasons Across America
http://www.eduplace.com/projects/seasons.shtml
This is a great project for all students as they take photographs of changes in the environment around them and watch as fall and then winter truly “arrive” in each area of the country. Fall participation is still available and winter is getting ready to begin. This is a great class science fair observation opportunity.

This online project has students surveying relatives and friends to test Kenmore’s claim that one out of every two homes has a Kenmore appliance. It is not connected in any way with Kenmore. Students survey two homes and then add their data to the study. Opportunity is given for students to predict, survey, collect data, graph and interpret graphs.
