Web 2.0 in Columbia

Costs only $300 per participant

Description: Learn about the wonderful world of Web 2.0. Participants will learn about the free Internet tools available to teachers and their appropriate uses in the classroom. Tools include blogs, wikis, RSS, podcasts, social networking, social bookmarking and virtual worlds.

Participants should bring their laptops.

Intended audience: Teachers, administrators, professional development specialists and technology coordinators. Intermediate to advanced computer skill set required.

Topics

  • Try out Web 2.0 tools and discover ways to enhance student learning using the tools
  • Discuss appropriate uses of the tools for various grade levels and safeguards for students
  • Share AUP considerations connected to the use of Web 2.0 tools in schools

Registration closes two weeks before session or when session is filled (limit = 20 participants)
