Title: Geography: Five Themes of Geography
Description: Developed by the National Council for Geographic Education in 1984, the five themes of geography are Location, Place, Human-Environment Interactions, Movement, and Regions. These websites have definitions of each of the five themes, lesson plan ideas, and resources for exploring individual themes in depth. Includes an eThemes resource on absolute and relative location.
Grade Level: 8, 9, 10, 11, 12

CIA World FactBook
This site is contains accurate, authoritative information on the countries of the world. Here you can view pictures of maps, flags, and statistics of countries around the world.

Geographia Homepage
Click on any country to read about its culture, people, and history. Also included are pictures of its landscape. NOTE: This site contains sponsored links.

Atlas of the Biosphere
This website has information about human interactions with the environment. Search the Maps section to find geographic data broken down into four general categories: Humans, Land Use, Ecosystems, and Water Resources. The Schematics section describes various resource cycles with text and animations.

FunBrain: Where is That?
This game will show you a map. For each map, select the correct state or country. There are five levels of difficulty.

BBC: Geography Topics
This site from the UK links to several articles on various geography topics and includes sample tests.

Flash Earth
Click and drag on the map for an exact location. You can zoom out for a global view, or zoom in to view individual neighborhoods. Available with or without labels.
