Title: History's Mysteries
Description: These are websites about some of the most famous and puzzling enigmas in history. Who built Stonehenge and why? How were giant stone heads built on Easter Island? Was there ever a lost city of Atlantis? Here you will find out about these riddles and more, including the Loch Ness Monster, Bigfoot, and the Bermuda Triangle. You can not only discover the tools necessary to investigate these mysteries, but also puzzles, quizzes, and videos. Included are eThemes resources on the Egyptian pyramids and the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

PBS: Ice Mummies
Not all mummies are from Egypt. On this site, you can learn about South American mummies from the lost Incan Empire, and mysterious "accidental" mummies that have been uncovered by modern archeaologists in different parts of the world, such as the "bog mummies" of northern Europe.

Ancient Observatories
Explore this site to learn about Chaco Canyon and Chichen Itza. There are maps, teachers' guides with activities, and interactive virtual tours of these ancient sites where early astronomers studied the mysteries of the night sky.

PBS: Secrets of Easter Island
Explore this site to learn about the lost civilization of Easter Island and the enigmatic stone statues (or "moai") found on the island. See a team of modern-dayu scientists trys to discover how the ancient inhabitants moved these monolithic giants. There is even a "Move the Moai" game.

ThinkQuest: Unexplained Phenomena
This student-created site has lots of fun facts about such enigmas as Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, Stonehenge, and the Bermuda Triangle. There are several trivia games to play after reading about each mystery.
