PBS: Alien Empire
Click on the links to read the articles and view multimedia presentations about insects. You can explore a virtual honeybee hive, watch a video female moth laying eggs, see an animation of the Monarch butterfly migration, or solve the insect scramble puzzles. There are also instructions for making an insect mask.

Insect Field Study Module
In this outdoor lab activity students can learn to identify the characteristics of insects, distinguish between the different orders of insect, understand how insects' life cycles and how specific body structures help them survive. There are video clips that show tips for observing and collecting insects in the wild. NOTE: This site contains an online gift shop, links to several commercial sites, and a site with a guestbook.
