Description: This resource is a compilation of booklist web sites for elementary school students. The lists were compiled by teachers, librarians, and students. Some of the lists are divided by grade level, readability, or genre. There are also links to eThemes resources on various literature awards and literature genres.

This list of books for boys was compiled by a children's librarian and author. Each book is listed along with a summary and suggested reading age.

This list of books for girls was compiled by a children's librarian and author. Each book is listed alongside a summary and suggested reading age.

Students can look at the "Coming Soon," "Cool New Books," and "Books into Movies" section and read reviews on books.

ABC: Caldecott Medal Winning Books
This site is a list of all the Caldecott Medal winning books dating back to 1949. The Caldecott Medal is given for outstanding picture books for children.

ABC: Newbery Medal Winning Books
This site provides a list of all the Newberry Medal winning books dating back to 1950. The Newberry Medal is given for outstanding children's literature. Many of these books would be appropriate for elementary school students.

Sylvan Learning Center sponsors this free site for grades K-8. Students can create their own book lists and take quizzes on their books.

Scholastic: Flashlight Readers
Students can join this free on-line reading club for grades 3-8.

eThemes Resource: Literature Awards: Pure Bulpre Medal 2004
Learn about the Pura Belpre Medal and Honor Books for 2004. The award is for books written and illustrated by Latino authors and illustrators. The sites include reviews, excerpts, lesson plans, and activities for the books, as well as interviews and biographies of the authors and illustrators.
