Resource Links: A Math Dictionary for Kids
Use this interactive dictionary to learn about the area of polygons. Click on the "Aa" link and choose the "Area" for the term's definition and exercises. Includes online area calculators for Rectangles, Parallelograms, Triangles, and Circles.

BrainPOP: Area of Polygons
Select the "Area of Polygons" icon to watch the animated and learn how to find areas of polygons. Click on the "Bob, The Ex-Lab Rat" link for a fun activity. NOTE: The web site is available by subscription only.

Area of Square
Learn how to find the area of a square, then do online practice exercises. Click on the "Next Lesson" link at the top of the page for area formulas and exercises on rectangle, parallelogram, trapezoid, triangle, and a circle.

Learn how to calculate area by counting the square units. Includes illustrations and a quiz.

Area Formula Lab
This site has drawings of different shapes on a grid so students can count the units to use as the lengths and widths. Click on "Extra Area Grid" and print out the page so students can draw their own figures and then calculate the area.

This one-page PDF file has three practice problems on area of rectangles.
