Resource Links: Daily Life in Ancient Greece
This is an easy-to-read resource on daily activities of the ancient Greeks. Includes classroom activities structured as events in the Olympic games, lesson plans, and descriptions of the cultures of different Greek city-states. NOTE: The site does include some broken external links. NOTE: This site contains ads.

Citizens of Athens/Citizens of Sparta
This British site is about the rivalries between ancient Sparta and Athens. The site focuses on the Peloponnesian Wars as seen through the eyes of fictional citizens of each city-state. Students are encouraged to choose one family to follow through history, and they can do this by clicking on the illustrations. The site also has "Surfboards," a series of questions that helps young readers track the events. There are also printable autobiography sheets for each character.

PBS: The Greeks: Crucible of Civilization
This is an interactive website about Classical Greece. View a timeline, take a virtual tour of the Parthenon, or explore the lives of a few of the personalities whose accomplishments continue to influence the world today. There are four lesson plan ideas and links to additional resources on ancient Greece.

BBC: Ancient Greece: Athens
This site for kids has information about Athens, Olympia, Corinth, as well as a glossary, a timeline, and more. Click on "Resources" for a link to the British Museum ancient Greek collections (through Children's Compass, a virtual tour and instruction guide), sample writing and audio recordings, printable question sheets, maps, and art images. NOTE: The Talk link leads to a message board.

Greece: Daily Life
A short introduction to daily life in ancient Greece. Some information on clothing, food, and activities is included, although the information is quite brief. Includes two quizzes on containers and artifacts.

Enchanted Learning: Map of Greece
Print out a map of Greece. This page also has a link to the country's flag, a printout of the Greek alphabet, and a map quiz.

Greek4Kids
