This site for fourth graders focuses on four major body systems and includes fact sheets and illustrations.

How the Body Works
Click on an icon for a tutorial about that particular body system. Requires Flash Player.

eThemes Resource: Anatomy: Nervous System
These sites have illustrations, images, charts, and research material about the human nervous system and its functions. Also includes interactive human body tours, quizzes, and games.

eThemes Resource: Anatomy: Skeletal System
These sites explain how the skeletal system works. Learn about all the bones that make up the human body. Includes many photos, X-rays, and diagrams. There are some online quizzes and presentations, plus interactive tours of the body.

eThemes Resource: Anatomy: Urinary and Excretory Systems
These sites focus on the urinary and excretory systems and the removal of the body's waste. Learn about the different organs involved in these systems. View diagrams of the bladder, kidneys, and urethra. Includes an animated movie and photographs of organs.

These sites have information about how the digestive system works. Take a virtual tour of the inner body, watch a video, or try online games and quizzes. Most of the sites include diagrams.

These sites have information about the immune system for students in the upper grades. Includes several animations, online quizzes, and interactive sites that allow you to explore the immune system.

These sites offer factual information about the muscular system for students in the upper grades. There are interactive sites that allow you to explore the body's muscles, plus numerous online quizzes to test your knowledge. Also includes activity and lesson ideas.

eThemes Resource: Human Body: Support System
Learn about the three types of muscles in your body. Find out how they work in pairs and learn what happens when they are stretched too far. There is also information about cells, joints, and bones. Includes movies, diagrams, and word searches.
