This worksheet can help students organize their information before they start writing.

Composing an Autobiography Using a Web
This lesson includes a graphic organizer you can print out to help students organize their ideas. You can also adapt this lesson and have the students complete a graphic organizer using Inspiration software.

Student Biographers
This lesson gives some ideas for the type of information to include in a biography. In this activity, students interview the teacher and each other and write short biographies.

This site has tips for writing biographies, including a worksheet for writing down questions and sources. The site includes a certificate students can print out after completing their biography.

This hands-on activity has students learn about biographies and then write one.

Biography Maker
This self-pace online tutorial provides information about writing a good biography and guides learners to create a biography step-by-step. NOTE: This site has links to external sites.

ReadWriteThink: Bio-Cube
Bio-Cube is an online summarizing tool that helps students identify and list key elements about a person whose biography or autobiography they have just read. Use this tool to prepare writing a biography. Includes suggested lesson plans that go along with the tool.
