There are interactive sites with games, manipulatives, and animated movies. Includes links to eThemes Resources on symmetry, triangles, lines, tessellations, and geometric solids.
Grade Level: 3, 4, 5, 6
Resource Links: BrainPOP: Polygons
Tim and Moby describe polygons in this short animated movie. Try the quiz after watching the movie to see what you learned. Visit the "Bob, The Ex-Lab Rat" for fun activities. NOTE: The web site is available by subscription only.

Enchanted Learning: Label Simple Shapes
This page has definitions of simple geometric shapes and a label-me printout. NOTE: The site includes ads.

edHelper: Geometry Worksheets
This printable worksheet has sample questions that have students identify the polygons.

Polygons
This site has illustrations of triangles, quadrilaterals, and other polygons. The "Area" and "Volume" links at the bottom include equations.

Polygon Basics
This page has a table that lists the number of sides and angles of different polygons. Click on a polygon name to see an illustration. NOTE: The site includes pop-up and banner ads.

Figures and Polygons
This site has pictures of many different shapes. Click on a shape name for examples.

Geometry Flash Cards
Use the drop-down menu and name the shape that is shown.

Carmine's Lines and Shapes
This interactive site explains how shapes and lines are used in art and can be found in everyday items. Click on "Shape" to get started.

Hidden Polygons
Print out this page and shade in the polygons that you can make from the grid.

Tangram
Play this interactive game on Tangram puzzles. Choose from six different puzzles and proceed to start the game.

Hidden Picture Game
See you if can guess the angle or shape described at the bottom. When you get one right, the box is marked with a red "x."

The Learning Site
This is a math glossary site for different grade levels. Choose a grade level to view the list of terms. Grade 5 includes a definition for polygon.

Buzzing with Shapes
This is a fun tic-tac-toe game of geometric shapes for two players.

Traffic Signs
This site includes an extensive list and description of traffic signs. NOTE: The site has a link to discussion boards.

Shape and Space in Geometry
This page provides different activity ideas for teaching geometry through shapes and their properties.

Fun with Shapes
Arrange the puzzle pieces to form a picture.
