In support of the Missouri School Boards’ Association (MSBA) Online Consortium, MOREnet, the eMINTS National Center and MSBA are teaming up for a 3-day boot camp on Preparing for Online Learning using Moodle.
This 3-day intensive, professional development opportunity is unlike any offered before and is designed to introduce Missouri educators at any grade level or content area to teaching in an online environment using a hands-on, facilitated approach. e-Learning for Educators registration for summer online PD courses opens April 11. These 7-week courses, facilitated by certified educators, are open to teachers and others in any state.
Course costs are $150 per person with graduate credit available at an additional cost. A limited number of partial scholarships are available to Missouri educators (limit of 3 scholarships per district, please) on a first-come, first-served basis.

Participants in the eMINTS4Techs program are invited to attend the spring online meeting with eMINTS staff and tech colleagues.
Some of the topics of this meeting will include
Teachers’ expectations for summer work and training, which will affect use of their equipment
Suggestions for updating student laptops over the summer months and reimaging them for next school year.
Issues that need to be addressed (MovieMaker, laptop microphone and camera)
During the meeting, representatives from CDW-G, KCAV, EarthWalk and BrainPOP will be available to answer questions.

Districts participating in the Validating eMINTS project will administer the Learning.com 21st Century Skills Assessment (technology usage, problem-solving, etc.) to students in grades 6 and 7 during a test window from April 18 – May 16, 2012.
To prepare for these online assessments eMINTS i3 Data POCs and all additional proctors for the Assessments are required to attend a one-hour webinar. Submit proctor(s)’ contact information and register for webinar date/time online by Wednesday, April 4, 2012.

Districts that are participating in the “Validating eMINTS (i3) Project” will complete online assessments of 21st Century Skills (technology usage, problem-solving, etc) developed by learning.com with students who are currently in grades 6, 7 and 8 in spring 2012.
In spring 2011 district Data POCs attended a webinar and came to Columbia to upload student files. This year a webinar will be held as a “refresher” but Data POCs will upload files at the district. Assistance will be available by telephone if needed.
