Webspace for eMINTS PD participants

Policy summary

eMINTS National Center provides web space for participants in selected eMINTS professional development programs under certain terms and conditions. E-mail accounts are not available.

Policy statement

Webspace is provided to participants in eMINTS Comprehensive Professional Development, Professional Development for Educational Technology Specialists (PD4ETS) and Professional Development for Teacher Education Faculty (PD4TEF) only when PD training is delivered by eMINTS staff or approved subcontractors. The webspace is limited to a maximum of 5 MB. Participants using webspace provided by eMINTS must comply with all University of Missouri Acceptable Use Policies. eMINTS reserves the right to terminate inactive accounts if users fail to update their website for a period of six months.

Additional information

  • Participants are strongly encouraged to use webspace available from their own district or educational organization.
  • Participants may not use webspace to store e-mail. Accumulated e-mail will be deleted automatically after 30 days.
  • Participants may not use the Home directory associated with their account for online storage.
  • Participants who do not have access to webspace or who cannot readily upload changes to websites required for their program completion may request webspace from eMINTS by completing an application form available on the eMINTS website.
    • PD4ETS and PD4TEF participants will be provided with webspace to store their program certification requirements.
    • PD4ETS and PD4TEF participants who require additional webspace for a website must complete a webspace request application form.
  • eMINTS reserves the right to terminate any account if the user fails to log in to his/her account for a period of six months. eMINTS will attempt to contact participants about their accounts but reserves the right to deactivate any account and delete contents without further notice after six months of inactivity.
  • eMINTS staff and eligible subcontractors should make requests for participant accounts to access webspace at least ten business days prior to needing the space for participants.
  • Webspace will be provided to eMINTS Comprehensive PD participants for the duration of their placement in an official eMINTS classroom. Participants who transfer to non-eMINTS classrooms will be given a maximum of 90 days to move their web content. After 90 days, eMINTS will attempt to contact participants about their accounts but reserves the right to deactivate any account and delete contents without further notice after 90 days.
  • eMINTS teachers who relocate to another district and are placed in an official eMINTS classroom are encouraged to use webspace available from their new district or educational organization. A signed request for eMINTS-provided webspace must be filed with the eMINTS office to create a new eMINTS account.
  • PD4ETS and PD4TEF participants’ accounts will be deactivated 6 months after completion of their certification. If the participant has other content (in addition to certification portfolio), the account will remain active as long as the participant or the participant’s organization pays the annual access fees, the participant adheres to the acceptable use policies and the participant updates the contents at least every six months.
  • Teachers or pre-service students receiving professional development from PD4ETS or PD4TEF participants or from certified Instructional Specialists who are graduates of those programs are not eligible for eMINTS-provided webspace.
  • Individuals who are placed in official eMINTS classrooms but who have not completed or are not currently enrolled in eMINTS Comprehensive Professional Development may not use the account of a previous eMINTS teacher. An account may be created for the individual upon enrollment in eMINTS Comprehensive Professional Development.
    • eMINTS staff who become aware of such situations must report them to the eMINTS Communication Specialist.
    • The account will be immediately frozen and access will be disabled.
    • Contents will be deleted after one attempt is made to reach the individual by e-mail or telephone.
