Policy summary

The eMINTS National Center will provide notification to district or school administration about the progress toward certification of district participants in the PD4ETS (Professional Development for Educational Technology Specialists) program. Notification will occur by January 31 and again by June 1 of the participant’s first year in the PD4ETS program. Notification will occur by January 31 of the participant’s second year.

Policy statement

The eMINTS National Center will provide notification to district or school administration about the progress toward certification of district participants in the PD4ETS (Professional Development for Educational Technology Specialists) program. Notification will occur by January 31 and again by June 1 of the participant’s first year in the PD4ETS program. Notification will occur by January 31 of the participant’s second year. Notification will include attendance at PD4ETS sessions and a brief summary of the participant’s progress toward meeting certification requirements.

More information and specifications

• eMINTS staff facilitating PD4ETS professional development will provide notification of PD4ETS participants progress toward certification to district administration by the following dates:
• Year 1: January 31
• Year 1: June 1
• Year 2: January 31
• Notification will involve attendance at PD4ETS sessions and a brief summary of the participant’s progress toward meeting certification requirements.
• Comments of an evaluative nature will not be provided to school or district administration. The summary will be a statement of certification items (completed or not completed) and the level of completion (satisfactory or unsatisfactory).
• Program requirements for completion of certification items will not be extended beyond those specified in the program FAQ and application unless there are documented extenuating circumstances. Make-up sessions are not provided for PD4ETS participants.
