Oklahoma - FY07

Two eMINTS National Center instructional specialists traveled to Oklahoma in May 2006 to work with five professional development specialists from Muskogee, OK. The Oklahoma PD specialists are sharing selected eMINTS PD modules with middle school teachers as part of a GEAR-UP grant. GEAR-UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) are targeted at middle school level and designed to increase the number of low-income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education.

Follow-up e-conferencing sessions were completed with the eMINTS specialists for the first part of the 2006-2007 school year, providing support and assistance to Muskogee specialists for their ongoing work with Oklahoma teachers.
