Delaware

The Delaware Center for Educational Technology and the Delaware Department of Education have committed Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT) Federal funds to support a Delaware implementation of the eMINTS program. An RFP was issued and three schools were selected to be part of the project for the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 school years. Each school has committed to a two-year project.

Participating Schools
  • Kuumba Academy (Charter)
  • Thomas Edison Charter School
  • A.I. duPont Middle School (Red Clay)

On Monday morning, September 22, 2008, the eMINTS Kick-off meeting was held at the District Office of the Red Clay Consolidated School District. Representatives of each participating school, the DCET and eMINTS National Center met to discuss the program and its implementation. In the afternoon, the PD4ETS (Professional Development for Educational Technology Specialists) training began with participants from Kuumba Academy, Thomas Edison Charter School, A.I. duPont Middle (Red Clay), DCET and a visitor from New Jersey. PD4ETS training was conducted by Nancy Boatman from the eMINTS National Center.

Participants in the PD4ETS training included Judith Conway (Red Clay/A.I. duPont Middle), Marquiz Turner (Edison), Liz Yates (Edison), Jacobi Simmons (Edison), Abdul Hamin (Kuumba), Michelle Hastie (Kuumba), Chrissy Dupuis (New Jersey), Wayne Hartschuh (DCET) and Wendy Modzelewski (DCET). The PD4ETS training took place Monday through Thursday for a total of 25 hours.
