In October 2007, six Baldwin County School District staff members spent three days in St. Louis, Missouri, with staff from the eMINTS National Center participating in the Professional Development for Educational Technology Specialists program. With these three days of training, the Baldwin staff members (the BeMINTS Team) began completing requirements for becoming certified eMINTS Instructional Specialists, who then will provide training to Baldwin teachers selected to participate in the eMINTS program.
Currently 13 eMINTS classrooms are underway in Baldwin County, funded by a variety of state, federal and local funding sources.
eMINTS staff members visited two of the classrooms in November 2008 to observe progress and to see the district staff members who are becoming eMINTS specialists.
