The eMINTS National Center at the University of Missouri has offered research-based professional development programs to K-20 educators since 1999. eMINTS changes how teachers teach and students learn. eMINTS National Center programs were developed in collaboration with the University of Missouri, Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Missouri Department of Higher Education.
eMINTS
eMINTS professional development uses interactive group sessions and in-classroom coaching/mentoring to help teachers integrate technology into their teaching using an instructional model that
- promotes inquiry-based learning
- supports high-quality lesson design
- builds community among students and teachers
- creates technology-rich learning environments
eMINTS began in Missouri – its name an acronym for the project enhancing Missouri’s Instructional Networked Teaching Strategies. Today eMINTS can be found in classrooms across the United States and in New South Wales, Australia.

e-Learning for Educators
e-Learning for Educators: Missouri originated as part of an eight-state online professional development program funded by a U.S. Department of Education Ready to Teach grant. Now a self-sustaining program of the eMINTS National Center, e-Learning for Educators continues to develop and deliver high-quality online professional development designed to increase teacher knowledge and skills to improve student performance. The program leverages the expertise and experience of educators while making high-quality professional development available across Missouri and other states. Experienced Missouri educators facilitate a variety of 7-week-long online professional development courses for teachers.
